The Book Fair will run Monday, February 12th - Friday, February 16th from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily. In this PLTW/STEM activity we were making glue out of powdered milk! The main ingredient is a protein in milk called casein that you can turn into glue by adding a catalyst to cause a reaction. Our catalyst was vinegar. Once we added the vinegar we were able to create a curd. After drying the curd we then added a smidge of hot water and baking soda to make a paste. We also made a flour based glue. Once the glues were made we tested them on 3 different types of materials to see how well they would hold! The students were surprised at how strong each glue was.

OHS SMASH Food Pantry will be open Wed. Feb. 7th 3:00-5:30; Thurs. Feb. 8th 3:00-6:30; and Fri. Feb. 9th 8:30-11:30 for any OHS families or community members.
Reminder: Sports Team & Individual Pictures tomorrow! This includes 3rd/4th Basketball, 5th-8th Basketball, Cheerleaders, and eSports. Please make sure students bring their uniforms to school with them.
The recipe for success on this particular day included milk, heavy cream, sugar, salt, ice and either vanilla, strawberry or chocolate flavoring to make ice cream. Once combined into plastic bags, students had to mix the concoctions until they froze into ice cream. This lesson in STEM came from Project Lead the Way, an organization that provides hands-on curriculum in subjects such as engineering, computer science and biomedical science. The students enjoyed this "tasty" lesson!
Practice will be cancelled on Tuesday, Jan 23. Coach Fox has a doctors appointment that cannot be changed, and Coach Bledsoe is out of town. Practice will be held Thurs, Jan 25.

Last night, 7/8th grade teams traveled to Kildare. Girls were defeated 18-19, and Boys won 38-36. Warriors of the game were Bella Ostrosky and Sidney Pruett. Great job to both teams!
